"Chopin's Birthday Concert" - 217 Years.
Chopin Birthday Recital – 217 Years is a concert dedicated to the 217th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s birth. This event is part of a major European concert tour, featuring leading concert halls in cities such as Prague (Rudolfinum), Vienna (Ehrbarsaal), Budapest (Vigado), Paris (Salle Gaveau), and Reykjavik (Harpa) and it will be Greg Niemczuk’s debut in London.
The recital program will feature Chopin’s most famous and beloved masterpieces, which have moved audiences around the world for generations. The audience will hear, among others, the poignant Nocturne in C-sharp minor, the famous Ballade No. 1, the patriotic Polonaises in A major, Op. 40, and in A-flat major, Op. 54, the dramatic Scherzo No. 2,
as well as the Nocturnes, Op. 9, beloved by music lovers. The program will also feature the famous Etudes, including the moving Op.
10 No. 3 “La Tristesse” and the powerful “Revolutionary” Etude, Op.10 No. 12, as well as the brilliant Waltz in E-flat major, Op. 18.
This recital, however, is more than just a concert. It is an encounter with Chopin’s music through music and words.
Pianist Grzegorz (Greg) Niemczuk will not only perform the composer’s masterpieces but will also discuss their creation, historical context, inspirations, and hidden meanings.
Between pieces, he will share fascinating stories, interesting facts, and reflections that will allow the audience to delve deeper into Chopin’s world.
